teen marijuana use decrease in coloradoThe Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s (CDPHE) Healthy Kids Colorado Survey revealed that young people were 35% less likely to consume cannabis in 2021 than in years before. This shows a trend that combats arguments regarding legalization resulting in higher youth consumption.

As one of the first states to legalize cannabis for recreational use, Colorado has more underage consumption data than other states. Thus, the state remains a focal point for advocates and opponents of reform.

However, the data shows that regulating access for adults keeps adolescent cannabis use low.
