Medical Cannabis Dispensary ‘Delta Cannabis’ Officially Open in West Memphis

Delta Cannabis officially opened its doors in West Memphis, Ark. this past Wednesday.

After almost four years of waiting since Arkansas passed its Medical Marijuana Amendment, West Memphians finally have easy access to medical cannabis. Rather than a long trip to the dispensary, many patients can get what they need close to home.

One customer, Alicia Pufhal, said, “Everybody smokes cannabis. Everybody. If you say you don’t, I don’t believe you. ‘Cause you do. Everybody smokes weed.”

She claimed she’s excited about Delta Cannabis’s opening day without hesitation. But she’s not the only person ecstatic about the new dispensary.

Another customer, Cristie, told FOX13, “I used to be on pain pills, but I was able to get off of them with smoking the marijuana, and I do it through my doctor.”

Xandria Bellach, a budtender at Delta Cannabis, claims she helps customers choose their products in accordance with their condition. She claims, “For chronic back pain, I would probably do, for example, an edible. An edible would be something that lasts a lot longer, compared to smoking, which is more fast-acting.”

At this point, nearly 64,000 Arkansans are medical cannabis cardholders. This number is well beyond the early predictions of the cannabis market’s potential in this state. But with COVID-19, the sales have increased more than anyone could have anticipated.

Delta Cannabis Spokesperson, Taylor Riddle, is quoted saying, “We’ve partnered with people who are local in this community, local in the region to work here. We’re trying to make sure that the money we invest here is distributed back out in the community, where it belongs.”

With COVID-19, it’s easier than ever to get access to cannabis in Arkansas. Patients can get their qualifying conditions diagnosed by telemedicine, facilitating the process.
