High-End Cannabis Shops Bringing Luxurious Paraphernalia To Consumers
With legalization occurring all throughout the nation, it should come as no surprise that high-end cannabis shops and dispensaries would begin to pop up.
Matt Mazzucca, the creative director at Barneys, claims that legalization has really infused life into the high-end pot shop. “You could see and smell marijuana in the store, and you can tell customers were engaging with it,” he said.
Recreational marijuana is currently legal in 11 states, as well as the District of Columbia. With the spread of legalization, it’s increasingly apparent that the happy herb is now mainstream — as is the paraphernalia that its use demands.
In the past, low-end smoke shops carried the paraphernalia. From glassware to rolling papers and rolling trays, everything could be had at your local smoke shop. But with legalization, we’re seeing luxurious pot shops coming into existence like never before.
Even Barneys New York, one of the most famous luxury retailers in the country, has begun offering marijuana accessories.
Other smaller shops are bringing luxurious paraphernalia to cannabis consumers as well. Higher Standards is well-known, having outlets located in New York and Atlanta.
“We felt there was a real need for this type of store because as legalization changes across the country, the traditional consumer is shifting,” said Higher Standards GM Eric Hammond. “There are recreational users in recreational markets, and all of these types of consumers come to expect a much higher level of experience in all aspects of their life, and this should be no different.”
What do you think? Would you purchase your paraphernalia at a luxury head shop? Or do you prefer making your purchases at traditional smoke shops?
